Wriddhiman Saha travelled with the Indian team to Australia despite injuring his hamstring at the back end of the IPL.
The first Australia vs India ODI match will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney. Someone like Saha is doing his rehab and we are aware of his progress and he is on the right path to be available in time to play the Test series.

India has been dealt a further blow, with paceman Ishant Sharma ruled out of the Test series, after suffering a side-strain during the IPL. Although India failed to achieve much in the 1992 World Cup, there is a feeling that Virat Kohli's team will be determined to repeat their success of the 2018/19 series that saw them win the ODIs and Tests 2-1 while the T20Is were drawn 1-1.
The Virat Kohli-led side will be without the services of Rohit Sharma as the right-handed batsman is now at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to gain his full fitness. "He's picked up an injury during the IPL and it mentioned that there's a two-week rest and rehab period", Kohli said. The pros and cons and the implications of the injury has been explained to him and he understood that. "We picked him as a 19-year-old, picked him as a 20-year-old, now we're picking him as a 21-year-old (22), so he's got enormous talent", ESPNcricinfo quoted Langer as saying. After that he played in the IPL so we all thought that he's going to be on that flight to Australia, which he wasn't. "And we had no information whatsoever on the reason on why he is not traveling with us".
Rohit's participation however, still hangs in the balance as he continues his rehabilitation at the NCA and will next be assessed on December 11, following which the board will have clarity on his chances of making it to Australia.More news: Photos of packed USA airports show how Americans are defying CDC guidance
"So from the time that the selection meeting happened to the IPL finishing and now when this email came about his assessment in the NCA, there's been no information. So it's been very confusing and there's been a lot of uncertainty and a lack of clarity around the situation", he said.
"My batting position will depend on the format I am playing and what the team wants from me and what combination sits better, the last ODI series we played, I batted at number five and I kept the wickets so yeah, it is a role that I enjoyed and I am happy to play whatever role the team gives me", said Rahul in a virtual press-conference on Thursday.More news: Microsoft Flight Simulator World Update 2 buffs the USA
