China opposes Indian govt ban of its mobile apps

"Government is committed to protecting the interests of citizens and sovereignty and integrity of India on all fronts and it shall take all possible steps to ensure it", it said.

The world's second-largest internet market, which has banned more than 175 apps with links to the neighboring nation in recent months, said on Tuesday it was banning an additional 43 such apps.

Earlier in June, the central government had blocked access to 59 mobile apps, and in September, 118 more apps were outlawed under section 69A of the Information Technology Act.
On Tuesday, the government blocked 43 more mobile apps, mostly Chinese, citing activities "prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order".

They join other big ones already banned such as TikTok, PUBG, UC Browser, WeChat, CamScanner, Baidu Search and Weibo in being disallowed in India.
The banned applications include numerous offerings by Chinese multinational tech conglomerate Alibaba Group, such as the e-commerce apps AliSuppliers, Ali Express, Alipay Cashier, and Alibaba Workbench.
The two sides have held several rounds of talks among military and diplomatic officials, but the standoff has persisted.
