Denmark breeds mink for their farmers and fur had promised that the order will finish their enterprise.
After the World Health Organisation revealed that the new coronavirus samples had been detected at mink farms in Denmark, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Italy, South Africa, the Faroe Islands, Russia and the United States, Danish scientists uploaded 6,000 virus sequencing and the mink variant information to a Gisaid global database website.
Testing of Ireland's mink herd so far has yielded no positive COVID-19 tests.
Following the discovery of a new strain of the coronavirus in minks in Denmark earlier this month, the Irish government put in place a number of precautionary measures, including asking anyone arriving into Ireland from Denmark to restrict their movements for 14 days.

The agriculture department said it "continues to engage with the mink farmers to consider the next steps".
There are three mink farms housing around 120,000 animals across Ireland.
In a letter to the Department this week, Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan advised the farmed mink population be culled as their presence is "an ongoing risk to public health".

Irish national media reports that there are three mink farms housing around 100,000 animals throughout the country.
Authorities haven't said how many people have been infected or which farms or factories have been exposed.
Health authorities said initial studies had shown that future vaccines against Covid-19 could be less effective on the "Cluster 5" variant.
