In addition, Google set Friday, May 22, as an official day off for employees to decompress, with Pichai expressing concerns over burnout. Pichai also stated that about 5% of Alphabet's employees are working from offices right now, with some regions (like offices in the Asia Pacific region) operating at up to 30% capacity.
Working from home is fast becoming the new normal for many. During this time, employees will only need to come to the office for the necessary work. Similar measures are being taken by Google in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The majority of people, who are able to work from home without it affecting them too much, will continue to do so until this whole thing is completely done with.
