Actor Ryan Reynolds had offered a $5,000 reward to anyone who returned the bear to Soriano, saying in a tweet, "Zero questions asked". Fifty three-year-old Marilyn died of cancer in June previous year.
She was devastated after her teddy bear with her mother's last message was stolen. Canadian media personality George Stroumboulopoulos also offered a reward for the bear's return, while talk show host Kelly Ripa and husband Mark Consuelos pleaded for whoever had the keepsake to get it back to Soriano.

According to CBC News, after days of searching and pleading, Mara Soriano, 28, received an email on Tuesday from someone who said he had the bear.
Soriano said her mother, Marilyn Soriano, recorded the bear's message for her shortly before going into a hospice. "That bear is the last memory I have of her speaking in her normal voice".
Soriano then drove over to her friend, in a different vehicle, to take him back to his home. The bear has a message in it in Filipino.
