The report from Bloomberg confirms that the Harry Potter RPG is now in development at Avalanche Software, the former Disney Infinity developer that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment purchased and revived in 2017 after its closure in 2016. Said to be available for PlayStation 5 and XBox Series X users in 2021, the game will reportedly feature role-play as wizards and fully customisable avatars. Set in the 19th Century (1800's) Wizarding World, this 3rd person open-world action RPG game centers around your character with unique abilities who has eared a late acceptance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The Batman game (likely Gotham Knights) is now planned to be revealed at an event called DC FanDome in August, with the Harry Potter game to be revealed sometime after that. Publisher Warner Bros. has yet to officially announce the game, but its existence is nearly indisputable at this point: it's been rumored for years, with footage leaked in 2018. J.K. Rowling has reportedly had very little direct involvement with the game, which may be fortunate considering the author has been criticized for recent transphobic comments.
