It continues to show an interest in the boy - who Italian media have reported is 10 years old - as he calmly walks back to his family.
His uncle, Federico, told local newspaper La Stampa: "We had left home only a little while before".
Experts cited by RAI claim Alessandro acted appropriately for the situation, but it wasn't by chance; the boy claims he had previously watched videos outlining what to do when encountering a bear.
"I'm pretty sure that the bear had been sleeping, because we hadn't seen it coming up", Mr Calliari said. "We were obviously alarmed but he was really calm".More news: Astronomers May Have Found the Universe's Missing Matter
Alessandro turns around just as the bear pushes its way through some bushes, but the boy never stops moving.
However, Franzoi managed to escape unharmed from the access of the enormous animal using his knowledge which he had studied about bears and how to respond during an encounter.
