The Samsung Terrace, launched on Thursday, is a smart TV with all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a high-end Samsung QLED TV: Quantum HDR, Direct Full Array 16X local dimming, Quantum Dot color tech, and AI-enhanced 4K upscaling. A consumer model of The Terrace is launching in the USA and Canada today, followed by rollouts to Germany, Australia, New Zealand and other regions later this year. The soundbar is also IP55 rated to be weather-resistant and durable outdoors.
"Today, new lifestyle habits and trends are evolving faster than ever before. It's a center for entertainment, a source for news, a hub for exercise, and it helps us stay connected at work", says James Fishler, senior vice president of the Home Entertainment Division at Samsung Electronics America.
At the moment, the Terrace is only launching in the US and Canada, with a rollout to other select markets to begin later this year.

Still, perhaps that premium price point is down to the outdoorsy nature of the Terrace.
It provides a brightness level of 2,000 nits, ensuring that you'll be able to enjoy content in crystal clear quality, even in broad daylight. Its QLED 4K display is flawless for sports fans: with a high motion rate, it provides clear, lifelike picture quality, ideal for motion-intensive content.
To minimise glare from harsh light sources, the display is coated with anti-reflection and adaptive picture technology which optimises content by analysing its surroundings. It's created to withstand the elements with an IP55 rating which makes it water and dust resistant. And it packs all that in a body that's 59.8mm thin. In addition to supporting mobile viewing capabilities like Multi View and Tap View, the Terrace also supports multiple voice services including Bixby, Amazon Alexa and soon Google Assistant. The Terrace ships on June 5, while the Terrace Soundbar has a June 12 shipping date.More news: Singapore passes first Zoom-enabled death sentence to Malaysian man
In order to get content to the TV, Samsung says The Terrace has a built-in HDBaseT receiver as well as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The Terrace Soundbar can be mounted to a wall, or directly to the Terrace TV.
