More than 700 million people downloaded TikTok during the whole of previous year and the messaging service WhatsApp saw 870 million downloads.
More impressive is the fact that Disney+ only launched on November 12, which is well into the measure period of October 1-December 31, and is now only available in five markets. The launch is referred to by the report as "unprecedented" and was more than double the total for the next closest app, TikTok. However, it did take the #9 spot for worldwide downloads specifically from the App Store, despite launching well into the quarter, on November 12.
Unsurprisingly, the app failed to break into the top 20 in Europe, with Disney+ only being available in the Netherlands - a country with a population of only 17.18 million people.More news: Prithvi Shaw Available For Selection For All Formats Of The Game: BCCI
In terms of revenue, Disney+ grossed more than $50 million in its first 30 days, beating out other subscription video on demand (SVOD) rivals, like HBO NOW and Showtime.
Meanwhile, YouTube narrowly lost to TikTok in the US App Store download battle, settling for the last place on the podium, ahead of Gmail, Netflix, Messenger, and Facebook.
It shouldn't come as a big surprise to anyone the least bit familiar with this industry that Call of Duty: Mobile copiously dominated every single Q4 2019 chart for games, winning the worldwide, US, and Europe download trophies across both Android and iOS.More news: Samsung Galaxy Z Flip to come with 15W charger
