Addressing the media in Dhaka, senior players like Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah, Mushfiqur Rahim, who were all present at the press conference, clearly said they will be off cricketing activities till the time their demands are not fulfilled. After Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh in the one-off Test recently, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) implemented a rule under which every Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) team must include at least one leg-spinner in their playing eleven.
Now the BCB, which has 18 nationally contracted players 79 first-class contracted players, pays Tk 35,000 as match fees for NCL.
The BCB last month announced it would drop the franchises from the upcoming BPL, which kicks off again in early 2020, and take over ownership of the tournament.
"The guardians of the country's cricket have a big role to play here", they said.

The players want an increased say in cricket matters and an improvement of domestic pay packages.
