As per Audi, the recall comes into effect due to wiring gremlins, a potentially faulty grommet seal to be specific. With this in mind, it would not be surprising if Audi ends up inspecting most, if not all, e-trons that have been delivered to customers thus far. The discussion at hand stems from Audi's voluntary recall of the brand's first-ever electric vehicle, the e-tron.

In a statement released by Audi of America, the company said that the recall is in response to a "potentially faulty seal that may allow moisture to enter the battery compartment which could lead to a short circuit or in extreme cases to a thermal event".
Both companies have opted to proactively issue the safety recalls before reports of any untoward incidents concerning the vehicles emerged from owners. The recall fix will be available by August, according to the company. Not all autos delivered to potentialities up to now are affected, the Audi representative acknowledged. Last year, for example, the electric auto maker voluntarily recalled 123,000 Model S built before April 2016 due to excessive corrosion in the aluminum power steering bolts supplied by Bosch. Audi added that no actual incident has been reported yet.More news: Apple's iCloud for Windows App Gets a New Version in Microsoft Store
The warning light is something to take very seriously, however: "Should a yellow battery warning light appear, appropriate actions should be taken to stop and park the vehicle in the open, do not charge and contact roadside assistance to make arrangements to have the vehicle towed to the dealer for inspection/service without delay", instructs Audi. Do not, under any circumstance, try to charge your electric auto while it reports an issue with its battery.
Despite Tesla's sales success, electric vehicles still account for just about 1% of the global automotive market, but that number is gradually climbing. They will also receive Audi Care or a reimbursement if they already paid for it.
