In a news release, the department said the police officer saw the woman, who he knew from previous encounters had outstanding warrants, and attempted to arrest her.
The fight and shooting happened in the 1600 block of Garth Road at about 10:40 p.m., according to Lt. Steve Dorris with the Baytown Police Department. Knowing that Turner had warrants out for her arrest, the officer attempted to take her into custody.
Baytown Police have reportedly claimed the woman was shot after she grabbed the officer's Taser and used it on him. Police say the officer then pulled his duty weapon and fired several shots, hitting her at least once.
Footage circulating on social media shows the officer following the woman, who has not been identified, through the auto park as she tells him he is "harassing" her.

The woman was in a vehicle park near an apartment building in Baytown at the time of the incident.
Officials say the officer is an 11-year veteran of the Baytown Police Department.

The woman's name has not been released, pending notification of her family. He has been placed on paid administrative leave. He said the officer did not suffer serious injuries. Police said they could not confirm whether she was pregnant and that an autopsy will determine that.
