In a series of tweets Thursday, Wohl sharply denied Avenatti's charges.
In a tweet this morning, Avenatti called his arrest the work of Jacob Wohl, the 20-year-old Trump troll, who was revealed a couple weeks ago to be behind a smear against Special Counsel Robert Mueller. He is expected to appear in court on December 5.
Avenatti became famous representing Daniels, the porn actress who alleges she had an affair with Donald Trump in 2006 and has sued to invalidate the confidentiality agreement she signed days before the 2016 presidential election that prevents her discussing it.

He later tweeted, "I did not strike my ex-wife in the face nor did I hit anyone else in the face".
"I will say that right now they are just allegations and I am going to reserve judgment, and I hope that everyone does - trust me, I know what it feels like to be on the other end of that - until all the details are discovered", Daniels said. "Michael has always been a loving kind father to our two daughters and husband". He said he's confident that after the investigation he will be "fully exonerated".
"It's about whether I have the ability to potentially help solve this nightmare, this dumpster fire of an administration, and help us push the reset button and instill some respect and dignity back to the Oval Office and America's standing, both domestically and overseas", Avenatti told Bloomberg in an interview. "I will never strike a woman", Avenatti told reporters after making bail.
Based in Newport Beach, Calif., Mr. Avenatti - 47 and recently divorced - took up residence in a New York City hotel starting last spring, capitalizing on his new fame and becoming a fixture on the cable news circuit.
