What do you guys think of Ubisoft's latest Prince of Persia announcement?
The first escape offer from the VR room of the Prince of Persia of Ubisoft, subtitled The Dagger of Time, asks players to arrive at the hourglass chamber of the mysterious Fortress of Time (last seen in the Warrior Interior 2004) at the behest of Kaileena, the Empress of Time. You can check out the 300 different locations for this escape room over on the game's official site, with the closest one to you probably being in Sun City.More news: Ofcom set to police 'corrosive and abhorrent' harms on social media
In July 2019, it was rumoured that Ubisoft was looking to create two new VR games based on the Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell franchises. Dagger of Time will put players in teams of up to four players to explore the Fortress of Time.
To survive and escape, players will need to work together, solve puzzles and control time.More news: Sam Smith Calls Billie Eilish's 'No Time To Die' "So Beautiful"
If you're up for it - and I have to admit, rewinding time in VR does sound cool, if potentially vomit-inducing - you can look for a nearby location on Ubisoft's website.
Although Ubisoft has a handful of VR games for individuals, they have quickly built an out-of-home community of VR users that look forward to their games. There is an evil wizard who will stop, and an army of sand monsters to foil along the way. The Dagger of Time is a virtual reality escape room developed for teams of approximately 4 players. "Prince of Persia ticked all the boxes", said Cyril Voiron, executive producer for Ubisoft Escape Games in a blog post. "To do so, we are not mirroring the in-game environment like we did in Escape the Lost Pyramid, and this makes the riddles and the level design way more complex". Players will have to co-operate with each other to progress and solve puzzles.
