The update now only brings with it bug fixes and balancing improvements, but also adds the long-awaited crossbow. You can read the full list of patch notes in Infinity Ward's official blogpost for the update, but for now let's just go over the more important additions.

Update Jan. 23 9:50am CT: Infinity Ward addressed the error in a post on its website. Imagine if a message were to appear telling you to reset all your multiplayer progress since then in order to play a match. "If you were presented with the error prompt and did not click "Yes" and closed the game, your stats are still intact".
Since the latest update players have been wondering how to get the crossbow in Call of Duty MW.
Infinity Ward has said that those who selected "yes" can still play the game, but they may have to roll back any stats to a previous state, prior to the update, "We're actively working on a fix for this, but do not have one to deploy tonight". The error message, which popped up for some people after the update, told users their data was "corrupt or didn't download properly" and they'd have to reset their rank and unlocks to fix it. Instead, until a solution is found, it is suggested those encountering the bug hard close the application.
