Rap mogul Jay-Z celebrated his 50th birthday and surprised fans on Wednesday (Dec 4) by putting his catalogue back on streaming giant Spotify, after a two-year hiatus.

The "Empire State Of Mind" rapper had previously removed his songs from Spotify as he owns rival streaming service Tidal, along with other huge names including Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Calvin Harris, J. Cole, Rihanna, Usher and many more. Follow Clash Magazine as we skip merrily between clubs, concerts, interviews and photo shoots. Just a tweet from Spotify that welcomed him back to the service. The rapper's streaming service, Tidal, will run a special video stream of all things Jay-Z, including interviews, performances, and music videos today as well.

Although the 22-time Grammy winner's catalog was promptly restored to Apple Music - it remained banned on Spotify "at the request of the artist". It's a mystery as to how this was all arranged to make this happen. Like seriously, if you've never listened to Jay-Z's most recent album, you now have absolutely no excuse.
