The four men, all lorry workers, who were arrested on Friday for allegedly raping and killing the woman were sent to judicial custody for 14 days by the executive magistrate who passed the order at the Shadnagar police station.

"Due to the sexual assault and the force, she became semi-conscious", R. Venkatesh, police inspector from Hyderabad, told CNN. Police commissioner Sajjanar told media personnel that four suspects were nabbed by tracking the calls made by the victim and the accused from their mobiles through the nearest cell tower.
Police allege she was gang-raped before she was killed. "They hatched a plan and Naveen [a suspect] deflated her scooter's tyre. Her daughter becoming the victim of such a crime... what she must be going through". It was only six hours after the her family raised concern that the police began looking for her.
Not just the aam aadmi, but the celebrities have also come in support of the victim and have been demanding justice in the case.

Some locals, including activists, staged a protest outside Shadnagar Police Station where the accused are lodged, raised slogans against them and demanded severe punishment for them.
Her murder sparked widespread protests and drew global attention to violence against women in India.
According to government figures, more than 32,000 rape cases were reported in 2017.
Women's groups turned against a minister in Telegana state, which includes Hyderabad, who said the dead woman could have been saved if she had called police first instead of her sister. "The only objective of this protest is to ensure that I am not burned to death tomorrow", she said.
