The Met Office's amber weather warning for heavy rain covering parts of Yorkshire and the Midlands is in place until 6am and communities are bracing themselves for more of the deluge which brought travel chaos on Thursday.
Her body was tragically recovered from flood water in Darley Dale, following reports that someone had been swept away by the rising waters.
The Environment Agency reduced its number of flood warnings - meaning flooding is expected - to below the 60 mark on Friday afternoon, with forecasters predicting the worst of the rain had been and gone.

Floods hit the city of Sheffield, where the River Don overflowed after 85 millimetres of rain fell on Thursday local time.
A Derbyshire Police spokesman said: "The body of a woman has been recovered from flood water in Darley Dale".
Some 30 people sought refuge in the Meadowhall shopping centre after flood waters stranded shoppers who had turned up to see Christmas lights switched on.

Derbyshire Police said her family had been informed and formal identification was yet to take place.
South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said they rescued more than 100 stranded people on Thursday night, with around 500 calls to its control room between 10pm and 4am. They have put in minimal flood defences.
"Residents in these areas are advised to evacuate immediately", Doncaster Council said.
