The 21-year-old did just what was required at her home circuit to go down in history as the victor of the first ever all-women's championship, earning £410,000 in prize money in the process.
Jamie says "The whole W Series experience has been incredible". She has already taken on testing duties at Williams, not to mention a junior contract at Red Bull, and makes no secret of her resolve to defy the doubters by showing that a woman can hold down a race seat in F1.
But she was under constant pressure from compatriot and eventual race-winner Alice Powell and Finland's Emma Kimilainen, who passed her on successive corners.
"I felt good in the beginning and I knew I had the championship to fight for, and these guys had nothing to lose", she added.More news: Kartik Aaryan presents himself to Sara Ali Khan on her 24th birthday
This has cemented her place at the top of the W Series league as she finished 10 points ahead of her nearest rival the Dutch driver Beitske Visser. She managed it, taking the final podium position with just three laps to go.
"Every race, every championship you go into you want to win, but this one especially in its first year and for everything it's managed to generate for me. Whether that's personal or through sponsors or a team, none of them have paid their way scraping the barrel", she said.
"The crowd has been incredible today and that's a huge credit to the way W Series has promoted us drivers".
Finishing in the top 12 for the overall championship is significant, as those drivers receive an automatic invitation to return for the 2020 W Series competition. Next year will also see drivers eligible to score FIA Super Licence points, which are vital in order to become a Formula One driver.More news: Xbox Project Scarlett to focus on high frame rates and 'playability'
"I suspected that W Series had the potential to be something big, but I never expected it to be this big".
"Naturally there are still some critics, but I think generally the reception to at least the first race was really positive".
"We've spent so much of this year talking to the media about what is W Series, why it's needed and responding to our critics and giving our point of view against their criticism". At turn two, Chadwick uncharacteristically dropped to third as Powell slipped through the gap to take the lead and Kimilainen followed into second.More news: WhatsApp Beta users can now use fingerprint authentication just like iOS
