You're probably wondering how a seagull managed to make off with a dog but you should know that it was a Chihuahua that was stolen in this brazen daylight robbery.
Devon Live reports that Becca Hill, a 24-year-old Devon resident and owner of a four-year-old chihuahua named Gizmo, watched on in horror on Sunday (UK time) as a large seagull swooped down into her yard and snatched up her dog, flying away with him in its beak.
Hill of Paignton, Devon, took to Facebook seeking to enlist the help of neighbours after the distressing incident.
Gizmo's owner, Becca Hill, has since launched an appeal to find her beloved dog who has not been seen since.More news: Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky`s party poised to win parliament vote
My partner was in the garden putting the washing out at the time and suddenly he saw it swoop down.
It then carried Gizmo out of sight, Hill now fearing that the pooch may have been dropped or injured.
Some Facebook users were less than helpful, mocking the distressed Brit or claiming she had invented the story. I have no idea if he was dropped or where he is now'.

In 2015, a seagull attacked and tried to pick up a Jack Russell in the United Kingdom before its owner heard the pet's cries.
Niki Wayne, 57, found the birds pecking tiny Bella to death after the pup pushed open a door and got out.
The mother-of-five had previously warned dog owners to be vigilant in order to prevent another attack. Fortunately these types of incidents are very rare and not typical gull behaviour'.More news: Man injured after vehicle drives through crowd at Irish cemetery
