The new series, which riffs on tales from Norse mythology, comes from the creative team of Zack Snyder and Jay Oliva, which the streaming giant just announced this morning. Snyder is now directing, writing, and producing the zombie thriller feature film Army of the Dead for Netflix. Stone Quarry Animation will also take a part in the production. The company also worked with Jay Oliva on 300: Rise of an Empire, which Snyder did not return to direct.

Snyder and Oliva will write the series. The film centers on a Las Vegas heist being undertaken in the midst of the zombie apocalypse, and will star Guardians of the Galaxy's Dave Bautista, Sons of Anarchy's Theo Rossi, Sweetbitter's Ella Purnell and more. In the a year ago, Netflix has also announced several upcoming anime titles based on global IP, including Magic: The Gathering, Pacific Rim, Altered Carbon, Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045, and Transformers - War for Cybertron, all of which are now in development.
