Rain chances are 70 percent on Tuesday and will remain at 60 percent through Friday as the system moves to the west. It is forecast to push southward into the Gulf of Mexico.
The system has the potential to produce heavy rainfall in the affected areas, but it is too soon to determine the magnitude and location of any potential wind or storm surge impacts at this time.
Water in the nearby Gulf is very warm. It is forecast to move over the northern Gulf of Mexico and turn into Tropical Storm Barry by the end of the week. The low is now located over the Florida Panhandle and moving into the northeastern Gulf of Mexico.

The system could form by the middle of the week, but regardless of formation and potential direction, the NWS reports heavy rainfall throughout Southwest Florida remains a concern for the remainder of the week.
