Meghan Markle's father released a letter he received from the Duchess of Sussex a few months after the royal wedding, confirming the accounts of a number of Markle's close friends, who told People magazine Prince Harry's wife had indeed attempted to contact her estranged father after he failed to show up at her wedding past year.
Mr Markle revealed the letter to the Daily Mail on Sunday.
But at the weekend Thomas published extracts of the said letter - sent in August months after the Royal Wedding - and hit back at Meghan, describing the letter as "a dagger to my heart". Samantha Markle has spoken out on numerous occasions about her royal sister and has now attacked her by saying Meghan would care about her if she "had $600 million".

He told Mail on Sunday that he choose to leak the letter because of what he viewed as his daughter's friends attack against him.
