Argentina worldwide Icardi has been in talks to extend his stay with the Serie A giants for several weeks now.
The Argentina international's agent and wife, Wanda Nara, has revealed that two of the biggest clubs in Spain are interested in him.
However, according to The Mirror, Icardi is now the club's number one target, with the Pensioners owner Abramovich leading the push to sign the 25-year-old.
They claim the former Sampdoria man 'will not extend his contract with the Italian side and could continue his career at Real Madrid or Chelsea'.More news: Trump cancels Davos trip over partial govt. shutdown
"Icardi's renewal with Inter is a very long way off as things stand today", Nara told AS. The figures being talked about in Italy aren't true and we haven't received a satisfactory proposal from Inter yet.
"Furthermore, I'd like to point out that I am very, very happy and satisfied with the work we've done so far".
Premier League giants Chelsea are rumoured to be interested in snapping up Icardi - whose contract with Inter expires in the summer of 2021 - this month.
The Blues have been publically searching for a striker for a while now, with Maurizio Sarri affirming this with his desires for a fresh face up top, following Olivier Giroud's struggles with injury and Alvaro Morata's battle for consistent form. Nara's comments would suggest that Real Madrid and Barcelona are interested in the Inter Milan captain. We believe that he deserves more.
"For example, there are the two biggest clubs in Spain, with whom we have excellent relationships, plus an English team and a French one".
Icardi has scored nine goals in 16 Serie A appearences this season for an Inter side that now sit third in the Italian top flight.More news: Chargers' Brandon Mebane to play after newborn daughter's death
