According to Musk, the first hopper engine is being assembled in California and is nearly complete. In his tweet on Saturday, Musk said he is aiming for first flight in four weeks, "which probably means eight weeks, due to unforeseen issues". The new ship has been named the Starship Alpha or Starship Hopper and has been spotted at the South Texas Launch Site in Boca Chica, Texas, where it is being assembled by SpaceX workers.
Musk expects the Starship to be ready for orbital travel by 2020.
It should be noted that the final product will look a little different from the concept art, not least because the Starship will have windows before it sets off into space. The picture shows the vehicle with a smooth metallic finish, but lacking windows.More news: Mauro ICARDI's agent: "The two biggest clubs in Spain are interested"
SpaceX is on the verge of launching a prototype of the spacecraft that could one day carry humans to the moon and Mars.
This operational version will likely be 30 feet wide and much taller than Starship hopper.
The vehicle is slated to launch to suborbital heights in March or April, and the concept is a sign that SpaceX's plans are solidifying, according to Engadget. The construction cost of the spacecraft is estimated at $5 billion.More news: Hot! Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ honeymoon pictures from the Caribbean
Elon Musk has released a teaser of the SpaceX Starship, and many are intrigued and trying to take the flawless picture of yet another marvel from SpaceX.
Musk tweeted out the photo at the end of December, captioning it simply, 'Stainless Steel Starship'.
SpaceX shared new details about the 387ft rocket in September, saying it hopes to begin unmanned launch tests of the spacecraft in late 2019. Assuming all flights of the spacecraft are successful, SpaceX scientists may then plan the first lunar passenger flight by 2023.More news: Chelsea reject player plus cash deal for Willian from Barcelona
