The disgraced singer has managed to dodge allegations of sexual abuse for years, but after Lifetime aired their six-part docuseries, Surviving R. Kelly, an investigation on his property in Georgia was launched.
This effort was reportedly spearheaded by a family member of one of the alleged victims.

R. Kelly is now being investigated in Georgia for his actions in the past of having sex with teenage girls, videotaping them, and assaulting them on Lifetime's recent Surviving R. Kelly documentary series which lasted over three days.

Kelly has consistently denied the allegations.

Joycelyn Savage's family has claimed she is having a sexual relationship with Kelly, and that she is being manipulated by him into cutting off contact with the outside world.
Meanwhile, in Illinois, Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx requested that anyone who believes they have experienced abuse by Kelly to reach out to her office. The alleged incident went down in May 2018, and Timothy Savage made a report to police in Henry County.

"I was sickened. I was sickened by the allegations, I was sickened as a survivor, I was sickened as a mother, I'm sickened as a prosecutor", she said of the docuseries.
