Grande chose to channel the classic musical number from "The First Wives Club", wearing bridal white alongside her two backup singers to resemble the film's stars Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn and Dianne Keaton.
After releasing her incredible album "Sweetener" just a couple of months ago, Ariana Grande suddenly dropped her new song "thank u, next" out of nowhere recently - and now she's performed it for the first time ever on Ellen.
The ladies danced around to the tune on the stage, which was set up to look like a wedding reception.More news: Papa Gino’s pizza chain closes all but one location in CT
As for the performance, it was definitely live as she almost took a faceplant trying to step down from a chair on the wedding reception-inspired set.
There were some bumps and maybe even a few tears, but she persisted (and managed to find the fun), serving some on-point vocals as always.
"One day I'll walk down the aisle". "Thought I'd end up with Sean/But he wasn't a match/Wrote some songs about Ricky/Now I listen and laugh/Even nearly got married/And for Pete I'm so thankful/Wish I could say "Thank you" to Malcolm/'Cause he was an angel", she sings.More news: Xiaomi Mi AirDots Youth Edition Earbuds Ditch The Wires Priced At $30
Despite giggling over a misstep that almost caused her to fall, Grande got choked up at one point during her performance, visibly holding back tears while singing about walking down the aisle with her mom someday.
"Thank you for being here". DeGeneres responds: "It's totally fine, we're happy that you came back". You've had a rough year. "We love you, we support you".
To her credit, Grande doesn't slam Davidson or any of her exes on the track.More news: Jets, Dolphins to face 'horrendous' field conditions
