The first round of USA sanctions, which included cutting off Iran and any businesses that trade with it from the US financial system, went into effect on August 7.
The renewed USA sanctions took effect in August, after America's pullout from the nuclear deal in May.
The move comes as the United States threatened to impose sanctions on companies that do business in Iran following its withdrawal of the worldwide nuclear deal, which some European nations are still trying to salvage. Iranian officials have repeatedly rejected the offer.
