The series, along with the President, have been surrounded in controversy in recent weeks after former contestant-turned-Trump-staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman claimed in her book Unhinged: An Insider's Account of the Trump White House that the new President had repeatedly used racial slurs, including the N word, on the set of The Apprentice.
She just can't seem to - or won't - go away. It's an offer that Manigault Newman characterized as "hush money" in an interview with MSNBC.
But according to Trump, Mark Burnett, producer of The Apprentice, told Trump that the "n-word tape" did not exist.
Manigault Newman speculated that Melania Trump "is counting every minute until he is out of office and she can divorce him" and that if she was to leave him while he was still occupying the Oval Office, "he would find a way to punish her".More news: Amazingly preserved remains of 99 MILLION-year-old beetle found in amber
Even in her more traditionally Trumpian endeavors, like hosting a "news program" of sorts on the president's Facebook page, her command of company jargon is rarely delivered with the sort of acidic tone common among the rest of her extended family.
"Trust me, I'd love to [talk]", Patton said.
The White House has countered by branding Manigault Newman as a disgruntled former staffer with credibility issues who is now trying to profit from a book based on false attacks against an individual she has called a mentor and has admired for more than a decade.
Manigault Newman was director of communications for a White House office that networks with various constituency groups until she was sacked last December by chief of staff John Kelly, citing "significant integrity issues".More news: Chilean angry at airline over lost luggage allegedly behind bomb threats
'Everything, everybody positive, right?' she asked. In one from August previous year, she makes mention of "fake news", but then proceeds to catalogue a series of achievements by the president in a manner more enthusiastic than combative.
She told CBSon Tuesday that she took these recordings to "protect herself".
She has already released several secret audio recordings, including of the meeting in which she was sacked by Kelly.
And on Wednesday's broadcast of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" the comedian also claimed Trump called his son Eric Trump "the R-word" on the same supposed outtakes from "The Apprentice" that he said he's seen. Perhaps the best thing that could have been said about her up until now is that most people probably didn't know who she was.More news: Duval County only's measles case this year wasn't acquired locally
