The powerful natural disaster struck the Indonesian tourist island of Lombok, killing a number of people and shaking neighboring Bali, as authorities on Monday said thousands of houses were damaged and the death toll could climb.
The death toll from the devasting quake on the Indonesian island of Lombok has risen to 347, according to Government-run Antara news agency.
The latest quake was felt strongly on the island and followed a 6.9 quake on Sunday that killed at least 131 people and damaged thousands of houses.

It said it did not have the potential to cause a tsunami.
This most recent aftershock happened on Thursday and had a magnitude of 5.9.
"Our latest update is that 319 people died", said Indonesia's chief security minister Wiranto, who like many Indonesians goes by one name, adding that rescue efforts were ongoing and complicated by aftershocks. Many Indonesian speakers wrote messages on Facebook using the word "selamat" - which can mean "safe" but also "congratulations" - triggering celebratory animations.

Motorcycles parked on the street were seen toppled over, while the walls of other nearby buildings collapsed.
The island is a popular holiday spot and thousands of tourists have now left.
But some evacuees have complained of being ignored or experiencing long delays for supplies to arrive at shelters. More than 1,000 schools have been damaged, the organization said.
