Ultimate-and, from the look of it, there's a lot to look forward to. Richter is an Echo Fighter, meaning he's basically just a new skin for Simon, but it's still nice to see an underappreciated Belmont clan member represented.
Well, sort of. There are actually only two *brand* new pugilists, plus three extra "Echo" fighters - altered clones of existing characters.
That new stage will include 34 Castlevania music tracks that you can listen to while you brawl. Or, they could just save it as a complete secret until the game launches. We also got a glimpse at the fresh New Donk City Hall stage, which features Mayor Pauline performing "Jump Up, Super Star!" in the background. Haha, yeah, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has 103. Or roughly triple that if you count all the Battlefield and Final Destination versions of each stage. But Sakurai was far from finished: He also showcased that over 800 tracks and over 100 stages are now revealed for the game, and also showed off some new items and assist trophies, including Shovel Knight from indie developer Yacht Club Games.

Music also plays an important role in the game, and the team has made sure that it lives up to the name of the title. Dark Samus, Chrom, and Richter Belmont will play identically to other characters from their respective games.
While players can expect new stages such as the addition of Castlevania stages, Nintendo appears to be keeping true to its roots, as the N64 version stages are in the game and are created to keep the old-school style first and foremost.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will release 7 December for Nintendo Switch.

In addition to these modes, Sakurai also announced that there will be a Tournament mode. Up to 32 people can participate in this mode.
Smashdown: After every battle in Smashdown, the selected characters no longer become available. These sets of stages and enemies change for each character the player uses. Ultimate include the Banana Gun, Killing Edge, Bomber, Death's Scythe, Staff, Ramblin' Evil Mushroom and Rage Blaster, among others from a wide variety of different video game franchises. Not only are the two Belmonts coming to Smash with their vampire-hunting skills and whips, they are bringing with them an Alucard assist trophy and new gothic, Castlevania-inspired stage that features the occasional monster including a the rare appearance of Dracula himself.
