Mexican police have made no arrests in the stray-bullet death of a 27 year old Chicago area woman, three days after she was struck down in front of an upscale Mexico City restaurant.
Instead, the trip ended in tragedy after Mirutenko was killed early Saturday morning in an apparent drive-by shooting in Lomas de Chapultepec, a wealthy neighborhood in the Mexican capital better known for its mix of colonial and modern-style mansions than for violence.
Mexican officials say one of two men on a motorcycle fired the bullet and it was aimed at a bouncer nearby.
Mirutenko, who was with her husband and two friends, was taken to the hospital, where she died.More news: Scientists have shown how a huge iceberg broke away from Greenland

"She would give 200 percent", said Natalie. Mexico was a common vacation destination for the Mirutenko family and a place Tatiana loved, her father said.
"There's not gonna be a day that goes by that we don't think about her", sister Roma Mirutenko told NBC 5 Chicago.
Her mother, Natalie Mirutenko, said Tatiana was an inspiration who lived with "passion and fire in her heart".More news: Airbus to design Mars rover that will collect, return soil samples
Mirutenko worked as a senior investor relations analyst at Nektar Therapeutics in San Francisco. "I don't know how I'm going to survive without her, but with her memory and knowing how incredible she was to every single person that she ever came across, I will use that to incorporate into my life to be as great as she was to honor her memory".
"Out of respect for the family during this hard time, we have no further comment", the official said.
"She was always willing to help on any project across the company and had an incredibly strong work ethic", Nektar Vice President Jennifer Ruddock said. "Many throughout Nektar, and outside the company, valued her positive energy, insight and sheer enthusiasm for life".
The U.S. State Department issued a travel advisory in March warning travelers to Mexico City to exercise increased caution due to crime. Four states in the country-Veracruz, Tamaulipas, Michoacán and Guerrero-suffered a record 29,000 deaths past year. "She will be incredibly missed by all of us at Nektar Therapeutics", Ruddock said.More news: Pakistani authorities arrest ousted premier Nawaz Sharif's son-in-law
