Volvo Cars, the premium vehicle maker, is launching a new upgraded electrified performance offer called Polestar Engineered, specifically developed for its new 60 Series T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid cars.
Volvo will reveal the new S60 next week at its first USA manufacturing plant in Charleston, South Carolina.
The shocks are borrowed from the Polestar 1 hybrid performance auto, meaning they are adjustable.
But Polestar Engineered isn't only about the powertrain. Polestar emblems, black chrome exhaust pipes and gold seat belts round out the package's visual enhancements. The 2019 S60 will become the first American-made Volvo.More news: Manchester City to start title defence at Arsenal
You'll be able to spot a Polestar Engineered vehicle, thanks to its gold-painted brake calipers set behind unique, lightweight wheels.
After the Polestar 1 to be produced next year, the new marque goes all-electric, all-the-time, though Volvo will use that subbrand to tune its own PHEV models beginning with the next S60 sport sedan.
Indeed, Volvo recently announced that all of its future Polestar products - think Mercedes-Benz's AMG or BMW's M products - would be electric. "This strategy is firmly grounded in our shared belief in an electric future for the auto industry".
Henrik Green, senior vice-president of research and development at Volvo, said that the parts have been "fine-tuned to work together, delivering a responsive and exciting driver's car".More news: Jaguar E-Pace crossover gets new tech
