Interestingly, by tying the DLC to Red, this means that Hours of Darkness actually connects to the main Far Cry 5 story, at least to a small degree. Today we have a release date, a trailer, and plenty of details so you know exactly what you can expect at the start of next month. Players assume the role of Wendell "Red" Redler - you may remember him as the guy who sent you across Hope County looking for his buddies' lighters. Playing as Wendell, you'll be thrown into the thick of the Vietnam War, where you'll have to find and rescue fellow squad members from the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese Army.
Hours of Darkness is playable in solo or online co-op, and features new gear and abilities as well as two different playable modes.More news: Chargers DE Joey Bosa has some strong feelings about 'Star Wars'
The first piece of Far Cry 5 DLC, Hours of Darkness, will take players to the midst of the Vietnam War when it arrives for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on June 5.
Playable in solo and online co-op, you'll be fighting through risky jungles to rescue imprisoned squad mates while battling the Vietcong and North Vietnamese Army. Once you've beaten it you'll unlock Survivor Mode, which gives players a limited, more challenging loadout to play with, and Action Movie Mode, which is the exact opposite. Each of the upcoming DLCs will also add more assets to the content creator, plus there will be two additional standalone asset drops.More news: BlackBerry KEY2 teaser shows off design and new physical keyboard button
Hours of Darkness can be purchased on its own from 5 June, or downloaded as part of Far Cry 5's Gold Edition, or the £25.99 Season Pass. In July it will release "Lost on Mars" featuring Nick Rye the "King of the Skies" (sample scene image below), and in August "Dead Living Zombies" will involve "seven hilarious scenarios" with hordes of undead zombies on a B-movie set.
