As previously announced, the trio is now working on a new live action Clue movie based on the classic game, and it seems like a given that Reynolds, Reese, and Wernick would infuse the murder mystery with comedy - just like the 1985 cult sensation starring Tim Curry and Christopher Lloyd.
"In these contracts that you sign, there's a line in there that basically says I will get paid extra if they make an action figure", said Soni.
It's as if Deadpool exists simultaneously inside the movie and outside it: He's both a character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and a highly jaundiced critic of it at the same time.More news: Arab League chief calls for global probe of Gaza violence
Deadpool 2 will be released in theaters on May 18, 2018.
As with nearly all of the Marvel films, there are some scenes during the credits to set up future films.
Deadpool senior went on to gross almost $800 million worldwide, impressive for an R-rated (15 certification) flick, and was an undisputed king of comic-book hero movies.
What this all adds up to is a movie that is little more than fine. The crassness goes right to the edge of being completely objectionable. So to stay up-to-date with this franchise, this film is going to be a must watch.More news: Stanley Cup playoffs: Lightning get first win vs. Capitals
A tragedy in Deadpool's life sends him on a mission of revenge and self-discovery. This time around, he has to protect a surly mutant teen (Julian Dennison) who is being hunted by a fearsome cybernetic vigilante from the future.
Rounding out the rest of Deadpool's Gender Neutral X-Force are Zazie Beetz' Domino, Lewis Tan's douchey Shatterstar, Terry Crews' bad-ass Bedlam and of course Rob Delaney's fan favorite, Peter. If somehow the writers had been able to insert nods to the fake synopsis, Deadpool 2 would be the flawless comic book-inspired film. The new characters don't have time to make much of an impression, except for Zazie Beetz from "Atlanta" who has a great turn as Domino, a strong, sardonic superhero who relies on luck.
Part of what made "Deadpool" resonate so much with audiences was Wade Wilson's romance with Vanessa, which though not a typical amorous relationship felt genuine. "I talked to him the next day and I said, "What did you think?' and he said, 'I didn't get it", which I thought was pretty good". While appearing on The Tonight Show earlier this week, Brolin shared a clip of himself as Cable opposite Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool. If you are offended by jokes that are aimed at race, politics, sex, religion or Canada, you should look to one of the other comic book movies instead. One exceptionally structured set piece, a multi-vehicle jailbreak through a barely disguised Vancouver, could slot into any other Marvel movie. Not that one. And it is very brief. Fast forward two years later and I'm sat in a packed cinema watching Deadpool 2 with my mother of all people - because she finds him hilarious. That's because the team - with Reynolds at the forefront - doesn't hold back a single gunshot or rimshot.
