While the Deadpool movies are great (seriously, the second one is better still than the first), it's certainly true that if you continue to make Deadpool the main character, you have to continually find ways to make him the underdog again and again, it has the potential to get repetitive and redundant, something Deadpool would probably point out in voice over the third or fourth time this happened.
Instead, in the middle of all the swearing, stabbing, blood-squirting and grown-up jokes, there are moments when Deadpool 2 speaks about family, friendship, love and life.
Considering the risks 20th Century Fox took in greenlighting Deadpool, the 2016 film was released and became a global success, it seemed the risk now fell on the shoulders of its sequel. This sequel is filled with references to comic book superheroes and pop culture in general that will make you choke in your seats. We all saw it coming because it is in the trailer, but you will probably forget about it halfway through the movie. Brolin is an excellent villain, and the cast of supporting characters like Domino, Bedlam and Shatterstar are all solid in their roles.
