At the Google I/O 2018 developer conference, the search giant introduced a new and revamped Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered Google News app. Google also mentioned that the app will be rolled out to iOS users within a week. The app can also balance breaking news into chronological order.
While the new app launched on Android a few days ago, it was added to the App Store for iOS on 15 May and is available in 127 countries around the world.More news: 4A Games' Metro Exodus Has Been Delayed into 2019
"This approach means Google News understands the people, places and things involved in a story as it evolves, and connects how they relate to one another".
On opening the app, the users will find a "For You" section that has been created to provide the top five news of the moment followed by a tailor-made section that will provide longer news articles.
The app, which replaces Google Play Newsstand, has a clean and easy to navigate layout.More news: Guatemala inaugurates embassy in Jerusalem amid controversy
Users can hit the "Favourites" tab to follow different news sources, while the Newsstand tab lets you view a variety of different sources optimized for mobile format and "find special offers".
The next section of the app is titled "Headlines" that will provide the latest news in multiple categories like business, U.S, global, technology, entertainment, science, sports and health segments. When a "Full Coverage" link appears, users can tap it and see more sources on a particular story, including prominent social media links and more.
The last tab is called Newsstand where you can subscribe to popular magazines. Publications featured here will support the Google AMP standard, meaning pages will load swiftly and you won't be jumping from the app to your browser.More news: Scott Wagner Wins the Pennsylvania GOP Governor Primary
