The only Lowcountry county under a tornado watch until 11 p.m. was Williamsburg County.
The NWS confirmed that a brief tornado did hit Decatur County with max winds at 90 - 95 miles per hour.
The 130-mph winds put the tornado "at the high end of the EF2 scale", according to a statement from the weather service's Blacksburg office.
A watch is the less serious form of weather alert and signals that you should be prepared for a possible tornado or flash flood, according to the National Weather Service.
The Ashley County tornadoes didn't create much damage in residential areas.

"Here dozens of homes were badly damaged, some almost completely, and many large pine trees were snapped off and left with no branches".
Record low temperatures for the date were expected in Oklahoma City on Monday at 30 degrees F (-1 C), and in Kansas City, Missouri, at 25 F (-4 C), Hurley said.

The weather service says the "weak" tornado in Louisiana caused only minor tree damage.
There were several reports by emergency personnel along the way reporting they spotted a tornado so the NWS is fairly confident that that is what they will find through their surveying today. The strongest winds and the worst damage was in Elon.
