Police initiated investigation after registering a case of attempt to murder against unidentified persons at industrial area police post.
Verma and his friend were on their way back home in Mohali from Elante mall after attending a promotional event.
The singer and his friend were both rushed to Fortis Hospital in Mohali soon after. According to a TOI report, the singer was shot right outside his housing society in sector 91 Mohali. Hospital sources say that while Parmish did not get injured from the bullet, it was his friend who was shot in the leg, even as the bullet grazed past Parmish' leg, leaving the singer with a wound.More news: Egypt extends state of emergency for 3 months
Both Verma and his friend are out of danger and are now undergoing treatment in a private room in Fortis Hospital, Mohail.
Parmish later took to Instagram to thank Ajay Devgn as he shared the poster of the film. Dhahan uploaded a status on his Facebook page, along with a picture of himself holding a pistol and another picture of Verma with a cross drawn on it.
In the post, the gangster also said the singer had a choice of whether he wanted to "listen to others".

Verma is likely to be provided police protection following the attack.
Police have started the investigation. The gangster also said that Verma was "lucky to be alive".
