Earlier on Monday, Russia's military said that two Israeli F-15 fighter jets struck the T-4 military airbase in Homs, Syria.
The Syrian state media later reported that the deadly attack was carried out by Israeli warplanes.
Russian Federation and Syria claimed the strikes came from two Israeli F-15 planes, which resulted in 14 dead, including four Iranian military advisers in addition to multiple officers in the Syrian Army. Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Theresa May said the Syrian regime "and its backers, including Russian Federation, must be held to account" if the government is found to be responsible for the poison gas attack.
Israel and Russian Federation have held routine coordination talks since Moscow started to send forces to fight along Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's Army in the war-torn country.
"The Israelis, well aware of the importance of the T-4 base for Iran to apply strategic military pressure on Israel, would have ample reason to strike the base hard", he told AFP.
The Prime Minister subtly referenced Israel's recent bombing of the T-4 airbase in central Syria in a predawn attack Monday, though IDF officials have yet to acknowledge Israeli involvement.

Syria denied it had launched any such attack, a denial which was backed by its ally Russian Federation. The raid on the T4 airfield in Homs province comes as tensions rise over possible US military action in Syria in response to a suspected chemical weapons attack on a Damascus suburb late Saturday.
"The Israeli aggression on the T4 airport was carried out with F-15 planes that fired several missiles from above Lebanese land", state news agency SANA said.
At least 40 people were killed in that assault, including families found in their homes and shelters, opposition activists and local rescuers said.
