Rob Ford, the late former mayor of Toronto who made global waves when reports of his crack-smoking habit were made public, will be portrayed by Damian Lewis in a new film called Run This Town, according to The Hollywood Reporter. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the story centres on a reporter (played by Ben Platt) who hopes to expose a scandal swirling around a politician who doesn't play by the rules - sounds like folksy Rob Ford, right? The film, titled Run This Town, will also star Ben Platt, Nina Dobrev and Mena Massoud, and will be set during the politician's final year in office.
The film was initially reported to be a thriller; however, a publicist for the film contacted the Star and said the movie is in fact a drama - and all characters aside from Ford are fictitious.
