While the updates were available for select devices in the form of OTA update, Xiaomi has also put out the recovery as well as fastboot ROM for all of these devices. Xiaomi also posted the list of all the eligible devices (again) that will be upgraded to MIUI 9, it also includes the most popular Redmi Note 4 that was launched only past year. The other goodies on board the smartphone are 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, IR Blaster, Android Nougat based MIUI 9 and a 3300mAh battery.

MIUI 9 comes with a bunch of features affecting usability, performance and optimisations for enhanced experience. The MIUI 9 update will be available via OTA (over-the-air) in a phased manner. Treading the same path, the MIUI 9 also includes Smart Assistant that users can easily access just by swiping up on the home screen. First, the universal search feature, which will bring a powerful search engine on a Xiaomi phone that can differentiate your image like you do by typing in keywords. Besides, users can also check for it manually by heading to the Updater app. You can also download the update directly from the Mi downloads page. The webpage also has a "Notify Me" tab which allows a user to sign up and stay updated with the device announcements.
As it can be seen in the above image, the official Redmi Weibo account has confirmed that the handset will carry support for Face Unlock, full Netcom 5.0 and it will come preloaded with MIUI 9.
