His untitled Netflix film just announced its primary and supporting cast, and it's more than enough reason to get excited, anchored by the return of Rene Russo and Jake Gyllenhaal, who had an awesome turn as a deranged, unethical photographer in Nightcrawler.
"It's set in the world of contemporary art in Los Angeles".
Joining stars Gyllenhaal and Rene Russo (Nightcrawler) are British actress Zawe Ashton (Nocturnal Animals), Natalia Dyer (Stranger Things), Tony Award nominee Tom Sturridge (On the Road), Tony Award victor Daveed Diggs (Hamilton), Academy Award nominee Toni Collette (Hereditary), and Academy Award nominee John Malkovich (Deepwater Horizon).More news: KriArj Entertainment acquires official rights of 1964 classic 'Woh Kaun Thi'
Director Dan Gilroy with Roman J. Israel Esq. star and Oscar nominee Denzel Washington.
The team of Gilroy, Gyllenhaal and Russo are reunited on the picture after first coming together on Gilroy's directorial debut in Nightcrawler.

Sturridge is best known for his Tony-nominated role in "Orphans". Famous for his role as Thomas Jefferson in the Broadway sensation "Hamilton", Diggs was most recently seen in Lionsgate's "Wonder", as well as the ABC series "Black-ish".
Many fans will know Natalia Dyer from her breakout role in Stranger Things, where she plays the heroic Nancy Wheeler. She was nominated for an Oscar for her supporting role in M. Night Shyamalan's The Sixth Sense 18 years ago, and she's more than due for a second Oscar. She is repped by CAA and United Management. She is repped by WME and One Entertainment. While details on the story are still a bit vague, Gilroy did reveal late previous year that the still-untitled film would have "a Robert Altman-like large ensemble cast", with a similar tone to The Player.
