In many cases, including all the ones involving the Big Five players, it is unclear if the loans alleged to have been made by former agent Andy Miller occurred while the players still were playing in college or after they had turned professional. One of more than two dozen names mentioned as receiving impermissible benefits in documents in a Yahoo Sports report Friday was former Wichita State guard Fred VanVleet, now with the NBA's Toronto Raptors.
Fultz did not sign with that agency. Those spreadsheets cast a wide net throughout college basketball. Yahoo's investigation of documents and bank records in the FBI's ongoing investigation of recruiting in the sport turned up three players with Kentucky ties: leading scorer Kevin Knox and two former players, Bam Adebayo and Nerlens Noel.

Knox, a freshman averaging 15.4 points per game, was listed in the Yahoo report among players who met or had meals with Christian Dawkins, an associate of ASM Sports founder and president Andrew Miller, a target in the federal probe. A document in the report, shown as a December 31, 2015 balance sheet, lists a $10,000 loan to Fultz, when Fultz was a senior in high school, before he played at the University of Washington for one season.

Documents also said Brooklyn Nets guard Isaiah Whitehead received $26,136 while a freshman at Seton Hall, and Tim Quarterman, now playing for the Agua Caliente Clippers of the National Basketball Association G League, received at least $16,000 while a junior at LSU.More news: Celebrities, ex-Wildcats react to Sean Miller's involvement in Federal Bureau of Investigation scandal

Dawkins attorney Steven Haney Sr. said the report doesn't mean Dawkins broke the law. "By definition, these criminal defendants are fall guys".
