Chapman had received mixed reviews from fans after the first episode of Dancing on Ice's reboot series aired last Sunday, with many saying he sounded too much like he was commentating on horse racing.
Insiders hinted that Matt, who has previously worked on the Racing Post, struggled with diary clashes, forcing him to pull out.

A third wrote: "The new commentator is terrible", while another viewer commentated: 'The only slight criticism I have in regards to is the commentator...can he wind his neck in and tone it down a bit.
Since 2011 he has been a regular part of ITV Sport's commentary team, covering events such as the Africa Cup of Nations and 2014 World Cup. He passed away 2013 following a short illness.
