The NFL is going through some insane news this week but that is all for later. If the Vikings still played outside, I would love them in this matchup.
There's no question in my mind that New England gets this W. Tennessee's win last week was more about Kansas City's ineptitude rather than the Titans' good play. I also had the Los Angeles Rams beating out the Atlanta Falcons (28-24) yet it seems that the Rams have yet to take that next step. Buffalo Bills losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars (20-10), I almost lost if the Bills got within the red zone but the Jags pulled through somehow.
The Titans are a team that have been a odd team. However, that is still debatable. Don't forget that Sam Bradford, not Keenum, was the starting quarterback in the first meeting (although to be fair, Bradford played extremely well in that game). And if you're a lover of the original sense of football, field position is monstrous. Tennessee has to win the line of scrimmage in order to have a chance. "So I'm looking forward to this game and just excited". You have a rested team, a team of veterans who needed this week away.
New Orleans is one of the most balanced teams in the NFL. Bell will be the Steelers' X-factor, and guide them to a huge postseason victory.
That's unlikely, however, and that's part of why Big Ben wants this rematch.More news: Panthers' Thomas Davis to retire after 2018 season
As of this writing, I have the Steelers taking this game, 27-17.
Charles: I have absolutely ZERO faith in Blake Bortles, particularly after last week.
It's odd for me to say it but Minnesota could pull an upset here if the pieces fall into place.
Lastly, in what could be the best game of the weekend, Minnesota hosts New Orleans. Time of possession is always something that is critical in games like these.
Their opponents on Sunday boast the top-scoring defense and the 10th-best scoring offense, and while those advantages would appear to cancel each other out, the Vikings still have the advantage. The Saints are just all around great on both sides of the football.More news: Karni Sena members held while protesting outside CBFC office
This is a case where I'll go with the better quarterback. Drew Brees wins out every single time. The Falcons tightened up on defense by tackling well and kept players like running back Todd Gurley from getting yards on screens or sneaking out of the backfield. That will only aid the Steelers' game plan: Run the ball early and often, and shut down Leonard Fournette. This is a game that will be a must watch. It'll be a close game, but I'm giving the edge to the Steelers.
I feel bad for the Eagles fan base.
I just don't see it happening.
In the NFC, the Pats would have a very hard road to the Super Bowl.
Charles: I have to take the Falcons with Nick Foles under center in Philly. In this craptastic pool of AFC playoff teams, not so much. Big teams don't get smaller.More news: This is why everyone wore white at the Critics' Choice Awards
This could be one of the games of the season. But they have shown they can do it. I think this will be a back alley brawl.
