In Cosby's first trial, jury selection was moved to Pittsburgh over defence fears that widespread publicity could make it hard to find unbiased jurors in the Philadelphia area. She said that they never had a romantic relationship, and that she had rebuffed his previous advances toward her. Cosby said the encounter was consensual. Cosby was only charged in Constand's case.

Constand's lawyer said she was floored to hear Cosby's comment about the #MeToo movement.
That reputation was slowly torn to pieces as dozens of women came forward, beginning in 2014, and accused him of sexual misconduct.
