Although Prince of Persia was an extremely favored and well-known franchise at one point in time, the series' popularity dwindled, particularly during the last generation of consoles.

2010 is when the last Prince of Persia game, The Forgotten sands, was released.
In response to a tweet from a fan, who loves the franchise and lamented its long absence, Mechner responded that he was working on it, and was "doing [his] best to make it happen!".

However, Ubisoft doesn't seem to be interested in bringing back the franchise for obvious reasons but, we really hope that Mechner is successful in reviving the franchise. Now, like many of us, she wants to know what's happening with Prince of Persia.
