The Uttar Pradesh government has ordered a probe into media reports that the district magistrate and the sub-divisional magistrate of Jalaun allegedly spoke to special CBI judge (Ranchi) Shivpal Singh on the phone, requesting the acquittal of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad in a fodder scam case. "Lalu ji has issued a message to the people of Bihar", Tejashwi said.
The entire plot has been exposed on how cook Laxman Mahato and attendant Madan Yadav got themselves arrested in Ranchi fraudulently to serve Lalu in jail. Lalu Yadav used to celebrate Makar Sankranti with great fervour.
To this, CBI Judge Shivpal Singh replied that visitors will only be allowed following the jail manual, adding that Lalu should move to the open jail at Hazaribagh, about 150 km from Ranchi.More news: 2017 was costliest year for natural disasters in the US
The sentences range from three-and-a-half-years to seven years imprisonment. "You can not send anyone without his consent", the 69-year-old Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief added.
This is not the first time Lalu has underlined the fact that apart from being a political leader, he is also a lawyer and registered to practice even at the Supreme Court. Elaborate preparations are being made at Bashishtha's residence in Patna and party workers from across the state are expected to arrive with curd, beaten rice, tilkut and other items for the feast. "You can change rules as you have huge power", said Lalu.
The counsel said failure to pay a fine of Rs 5 lakh each under the IPC and the PCA would entail another six months in jail for the RJD leader. "He thinks he can play with law but now the law will crack down on him", said Sanjay Singh.More news: Noren: EurAsia Cup a super start to 2018
Seeking leniency because the Makar Sankranti festival was around the corner, on Sunday, "We celebrate it in a grand way.by eating dahi churra", Lalu Yadav said, trying to be his persuasive best. "I will order it if you say", the judge replied.
Lalu's response was witty. Giving a nod to Lalu's presser, the judge responded "I will get dahi chura arranged in jail".
Since the Dumka treasury case has a similar set of evidence as the Deoghar case, Lalu is already expecting conviction.More news: Angelina Jolie's Daughter Smiles Off Injury at Awards Gala
